About BJFC

Balgownie Junior Football Club is a proud and longstanding member of the Football South Coast (FSC) Junior Football community and actively supports the FSC charter.

This charter includes:

  • Fostering development of Junior Football in the South Coast region
  • Conducting Junior Competitions
  • Administering Junior Football
  • Upholding and promoting the objectives of FSC, FNSW and FFA
  • Facilitating the implementation of FSC policies, programs and initiatives
  • Acting as a conduit for the flow of information on issues of relevance from FSC, the Junior Council to member clubs and vice-versa.
  • Charging and collecting fees, levies and fines approved from FSC, FNSW, FFA from registered participants and others involved in football.

Balgownie Juniors often have over 600 boys and girls playing in the local leagues and hubs. It is the largest junior club in the FSC Northern League and has produced many fine players, some going onto represent Australia. (see History of the Club)

👏👏👏 A big thank you to Alison Byrnes MP, for nominating BJFC for an FY24/25 Australian Government Volunteer Grant and visiting Judy Masters during Round 2 on Saturday. 🏅🏅🏅An important visit with highlights including:-> Alison being willing to take a tour inside the female toilets and change rooms to see and feel firsthand the issues our players, parents, coaches, managers face with the current state of Judy Masters Park Amenity Block.-> meeting BJFC Life Members John Kampen, Tony Frigo and Gareth Leyshon at the BBQ and listening to the BJFC history, stories and acknowledging the massive contributions these men and their families have made in a voluntary capacity over decades.-> visiting the Uniform Shop and hearing from Deanna Sacco and Amy Lynam about the recent volunteer efforts in stocking and fitting our 884 players, 207 Coaches / Managers, 88 Teams plus hundreds of supporters in preparation for the 2025 season.-> visiting the Canteen and hearing from Canteen Crew members Candy Dumbleton and Amy Whyte about the weekly logistics and effort for the volunteers running the Canteen.-> visiting the Clubhouse to see how the Volunteer Grant can improve the inside football training capacity by improving technology and Veo footage access for our volunteer coaches and managers when its raining or the fields are closed.-> presenting a new Australian Flag to volunteer U10 Orange Coach Michael Melfi and U10 Orange player Jarryd Melfi for the Judy Masters Park flagpole outside the Canteen. 🥅⚽🥅 ...
